Adopt A Highway #6
Now that the weather is warm and beautiful in North Carolina, our Adopt A Highway duties are much more pleasurable. We are charged with the responsibility of keeping Carrboro's beloved North Greensboro Street clean, venturing out four times a year to traverse the four mile stretch, picking up any unnatural things. This time around, we set the start time early on a Saturday morning, so only the proud and the few participated. It ended up being for the best, as we stumbled across $40 in cash, and let me tell you, $40 splits nicely when its only two people. It pays to clean! Other good finds include the Adopt-A-Highway-requisite used condom, an envelope addressed to our friend Ginger, some nice vintage Pepsi bottles and a pair of good work gloves (about a mile and a half away from each other). Until next time!
